This policy explains what data Onifide collects, why, where it is stored, and what your rights are. We have tried to write it in a readable way rather than in impenetrable legal jargon — if any passage remains unclear, contact us (see §9).
Onifide is published by Mohamed Djamil, sole proprietorship (SIREN 108339714, SIRET of the main establishment 108339714 00017), based in Toulouse, France. He is the data controller for your data within the meaning of the GDPR — the same structure as the publisher's first product, TallUp.
Before we talk about data: Onifide is neither a religious authority nor a medical or psychological service. Dream interpretations are reflection tools generated by AI from a documentary corpus, never an absolute truth, a diagnosis or a prediction. See the terms of use for details.
| Category | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account | email, password (hashed), Apple/Google identifier where applicable, language, default interpretation tradition | Create and secure your account |
| Guide & tips emails (optional) | email, language, date of consent, position in the email sequence | Send the free guide and a few tips emails — only if you asked for it (“Send me the guide” button after sign-up, form on our website, or the switch in the app's settings) |
| Dream content | the text of your dreams, the date, your mood on waking, the tags you add | The heart of the service: generating your interpretations |
| Mood | your free-form daily mood entries | Mood tracking feature |
| Exercises | the transcripts of the guided reflective exercises (free association, active imagination, nightmare rescripting) that you complete | Save your exercise history |
| Evolving psychological profile | short labels extracted from the text of your dreams (recurring figures, narrative motifs, symbols), then their counts — a dream is analyzed only once, and the profile only displays elements present in at least two dreams | Premium/Ultime evolving profile feature |
| Dream images | the image generated for a dream, when you request it (Premium/Ultime) | On-demand dream illustration |
| Technical | IP address at the time of the request, error logs (via Sentry, filtered — see §5) | Security, reliability, debugging |
| Subscription | subscription status, store transaction identifier (Apple/Google) | Billing and access to paid features |
| Usage statistics (can be turned off) | the steps taken in the app (app opened, dream saved, reading received, subscription screen seen, purchase…), the app version, the system (iOS or Android), the app language and an identifier drawn at random on your phone, renewed every year — never the content of your journal, your account or your email | Learn, anonymously, what works in the app and what gets in the way — can be turned off at any time (Settings → "Anonymous usage statistics") |
| Cancellation reason (optional) | if you cancel your subscription and agree to say why: the reason picked from a list, an optional comment, your tier (Premium or Ultime) and your system (iOS or Android) — stored without any link to your account | Understand why subscribers leave, to improve the app |
We never collect precise location data, contacts, photos, or any other data from your device beyond what is listed above. The morning reminder is a local notification scheduled on your phone: no device identifier and no content leaves the device to trigger it.
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon, in the European Union (AWS region eu-central-1, Frankfurt, Germany). Unlike an app that would keep everything solely on your device, Onifide needs a server to generate interpretations and sync your journal across your devices — this is a deliberate architecture choice, not an oversight.
The only exception: generated dream images (Premium/Ultime) are stored on Cloudflare R2 (file storage), in a space created under European Union jurisdiction. They are identified there by technical identifiers, never by your email or by the text of the dream.
We use only the strict minimum, and never to target you with advertising based on the content of your dreams (see §6).
We never sell your data to anyone.
Onifide embeds no advertising SDK. The free tier is a trial (one first dream offered), not an ad-funded tier — so there is no ad network receiving anything at all.
If advertising were ever to be introduced one day, the following commitment would remain in full: no ad network would receive the content of your dreams, your mood notes, the transcripts of your exercises, or any signal computed from that data. There will never be any "smart targeting" based on what you confide to your journal.
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account (available directly in Settings), your data (dreams, interpretations, dream images, mood, exercises, psychological profiles, and the account itself) is deleted immediately and permanently from our active database and from image storage — this is not a deactivation, the deletion is real. The technical restore history kept by our database host then expires automatically, within 7 days at most. Error events (Sentry) are kept for a maximum of 90 days, for security and debugging purposes only.
If you asked for the free guide and the tips emails, your consent is kept until you unsubscribe (link in every email, or the switch in the app's settings) or until you delete your account, which stops every email at once. These emails go through our email provider (Brevo) without building any contact list there. An address left on our website without an account is deleted on request (§9).
The audience-measurement identifier (TelemetryDeck) is renewed every year, and erased if you turn off usage statistics or uninstall the app. It is not linked to your account or your email, and does not tell us who you are.
Answers to the cancellation questionnaire are kept without any link to your account: we therefore cannot find or delete them on request, so don't write anything that could identify you. Each answer is sent to us by email.
In accordance with the GDPR (and for all our users, wherever they are, not only in the European Union), you can at any time:
Onifide can be used from the age of 15 — the age of digital majority in France, below which the GDPR requires joint parental consent for the processing of data. Since dream content is involuntary, it can sometimes bring up difficult themes that the user did not choose; the app handles them with restraint and never puts them forward. We do not knowingly collect data belonging to children under 15.
Onifide is neither an emergency service nor a helpline. If a dream or an exercise brings up real distress, talk to a healthcare professional or a helpline in your country — and in case of immediate danger, contact the emergency services.
We may update this policy. Any substantial change will be notified to you in the app before it takes effect.
